Abstract
participatory communication of the community in The Royal Development Projects of His
Majesty The King on Sufficiency Economy. The 40 key informants were classified into 4 target
groups as follows:
1.) Those responsible for community development project.
2.) The formal and informal community leaders.
3.) Community members.
4.) Mass Media people who reported about this Royal Development Projects.
The results of indepth interview are as follows:
Most of the respondents received the project information through local media such as
village broadcasting systems, community wireless system as well as local leaders and change
agents. The strategy to communicate and induce community participation is to emphasize the
awareness that this project belongs to His Majesty the King. The research results advice that
the community more co-ordinate with mass media in news reporting and the government
should provide mobile public relations unit for dissemination on the phylosophy of sufficiency
economy to make better understanding on the application of the phylosophy to the career
development.
